Life as an Edge Case.

This is the yearly announcement that I'm still alive. I'm not using this anymore. Should I decide it's time to start posting random stuff again, it will not be using this service. When that time comes, a final post announcing where to point your RSS reader will be made.

Some days, I even get to see some very cool presentations.

I haven't posted in nearly two months.

Work has been kicking my ass.

In addition, in the last week, I've:

chased an opossum out of the house that got in via a busted dryer vent.
fixed a dryer vent.
climbed through the attic hunting a leak in the roof.
had the power go out while in the attic hunting roof leak.
ressurected a server to extract a database for a project I hoped I would have never had to touch again.
had the power go out on said resurrected server while it was doing a raid rebuild and fsck.
failed to ressurect a friends server that had it's raid go bad.
felt the need to beat AOL with a clue by four for violating another RFC.

This has been a slow week for me compared to the last 2 months. Life is starting to get under control.

I need more range time.

It happened. I survivied.

Gains:
A really cute 9" x 9" x 1" AMD K6-3/400 computer.
A pile of telco beans
A weekend not at home
A sale of some Hardline jumpers I wasn't using.

Losses:
Sufficent Sleep.
I don't think this reduced my stress level any.
Money. I must think of this as a vacation, because I know I'm poorer.

Casulties:
I seem to be missing my multi-tool. I hope it has gone to a good home. If it is found by somebody else, please send it back my way.

Unrelated:
My palm device crashed for the first time this morning. I've got a backup, but it's months old. Thankfully, there was nothing very important on it. Related: I need to come up with a decent contact management system, or at least find one that sucks less than what I'm doing right now, which appears to be nothing.

Yep, technology, still hating it.
